Benjamin Moon, Head Chef

Born and raised in South Korea, Ben started his chef’s career in 2002 in a small Japanese restaurant as a kitchen assistant.

Having mostly worked in Asian restaurants, he moved to Auckland in 2010, where he worked as head sushi chef at The Langham Hotel before moving on to become Head Chef at a newly opening oyster bar. After this, he opened his own Japanese restaurant before deciding to sell this in order to learn variety of different cuisines to improve his knowledge.

This has lead Ben to White and Wong’s Queenstown, where he is full of enthusiasm, skill sets and variety of experiences.
